Longer Focus
These are my thoughts and learnings around building focus at a single thing for a longer time.
Learnings are mostly from James Clear blogs. Also, do read his Atomic Habits book. It’s one of the best books I have read.
It is quite common that people start doing something new but the hard part is continuing it over an extended period of time.
Example: You would start learning some programming language, you make an awesome Todo app, maybe you make one more blog app. But, then you leave it without going deep into it. To be successful, you should have asked all kinds of questions in a narrow domain!
Don’t start from Scratch
Iterate, Don’t originate.
Don’t start from scratch.
Use what others have already done! Just make it better.
All or Nothing
Go all in.
Display the persistence to practice one thing for an extended period of time.
Focus
Trim away good ideas to make room for great ones.
All you need to do is commit to one thing.
It’s easy to distract, hard to remain focused.
Adapt
The faster you learn from being wrong, the sooner you can discover what is right.
Fail, but don’t repeat with the same mistakes.
Faster you adapt to situations, more you’ll be ahead from others.
Will keep updating this as I learn more!
